Terms of Use & Disclaimer
Last updated:
READ THIS FIRST. NFAWait is an informational resource only. Nothing on this site constitutes legal advice, financial advice, or a guarantee of any specific processing time. ATF processing times are public, but they vary by filing type, applicant, dealer, ATF workload, and dozens of other factors we cannot account for. Use this site at your own risk.
1. Not legal advice
NFAWait does not provide legal advice. We are not attorneys. The content on this site — including the daily articles, weekly digests, and evergreen guides — is for informational and educational purposes only.
If you have a legal question about your specific NFA filing, a trust, a tax stamp, a state-level suppressor law, or any other firearms-law matter, consult a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction who specializes in firearms law. The National Firearms Act Trade Association (NFATA) maintains a directory of NFA-knowledgeable attorneys.
2. No warranty on data accuracy
We do our best to pull accurate data from the three sources we track (ATF, Silencer Shop, Silencer Central). But:
- The sources themselves can publish incorrect or stale data
- Our scrapers can have bugs
- Numbers can change between when we pull them and when you read them
- The way we average or compare data may not match your specific situation
The data on this site is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. Don't make irreversible financial or legal decisions based on it. Verify with the source before acting.
3. Not affiliated with ATF or any retailer
NFAWait is an independent site. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Silencer Shop, Silencer Central, or any other retailer or manufacturer mentioned on this site. All product names, trademarks, and brand names are the property of their respective owners and are used here for informational purposes only.
4. Use at your own risk
By using this site, you agree that:
- You are 18 years of age or older
- You are not a prohibited person under federal, state, or local law
- You will not rely on this site for legal, financial, or tax decisions
- You understand the data may be inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete
- You will not hold NFAWait, its operators, or its contributors liable for any decisions you make based on the information here
5. Affiliate and advertising disclosure
NFAWait currently runs no advertising and has no affiliate relationships. If we add advertising or affiliate links in the future, we will clearly disclose them on each page where they appear. We will never recommend a product or service purely for affiliate revenue — recommendations will always be made on their informational merit, and the affiliate relationship will be disclosed.
6. Intellectual property
The original content on this site (articles, evergreen guides, the data pipeline code, the analysis methodology) is copyright NFAWait. You may quote brief excerpts (under 200 words) for non-commercial purposes with attribution and a link back. For longer quotes or commercial use, contact us.
Third-party trademarks (Silencer Shop, Silencer Central, ATF, manufacturer names) belong to their respective owners. Reference to them is nominative fair use.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, NFAWait, its operators, contributors, and hosting provider shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of this site, including but not limited to financial losses, missed opportunities, or any other harm.
8. Modifications
We may update this page from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent change. Material changes will be noted on the homepage for 30 days.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the operator of NFAWait resides, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
